These photographs are from a series of Hasisi’s (that can be seen in full on her site) called ‘virgin stripped bare by her bachelors’, which struck me as a little impressionistic, and as such brought to mind the section of On Photography where Sontag points to some great Mohloy-Nagy quotes:

“The visual image has been expanded and […] is no longer tied to the narrow limits of our eye; no manual means of representation (pencil, brush, etc.,) is capable of arresting fragments of the world seen like this; it is equally impossible for manual means of creation to fix the quintessence of a movement, nor should we regard the ability of the lens to distort […] as in any sense merely negative, for it provides an impartial approach, […] our eyes, tied as they are to the laws of association, do not give.” (From Painting, Photography, Film)

I’ve always worked these crazy photo jobs. Like right now, i work full time doing medical photography for specialty hospitals in Detroit. And before that i did photoscience for top secret department of defense aerial surveillance photo labs. I also did photojournalism for the military for years. Anyways, when i’m not working i’ve always just taken film snapshots of bullshit. It’s weird to find blogs that cater for the kind of photos my co-workers just shake thier heads at. Anyways, i’m not an art student or party kid. i’m a dad, i’ve been married for 8 years and i’m a veteran. that’s my anecdote.
